By sharing practical resources, holding fun activities and events, AARP CA is providing opportunities to connect and help build an even stronger California for all ages to live, work and play.

Del Mar Community Connections’ (DMCC) mission is to help and serve the senior population of Del Mar so that they may age independently and vibrantly in their homes. Incorporated in 2000, DMCC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of dedicated and local volunteers. With their guidance and two full-time employees, DMCC is able to achieve their mission of offering numerous social, cultural, health, and educational activities. DMCC also provides alternative transportation options to help our community thrive.

SeaWeeders Garden Club sponsors hands-on gardening projects throughout the city of Solana Beach and promotes sustainable beautification in public and private spaces. Membership is through the Solana Beach Civic & Historical Society and is open to residents of Solana Beach and neighboring communities. The club has several on-going projects which can be explored at seaweedersgardenclub.org.

The Solana Beach Civic & Historical Society, founded in 1953, contributes to the community through educational programs, city beautification projects, and a “living history” museum in La Colonia Park. The Society’s many ongoing initiatives include annual academic scholarships for college-bound Solana Beach students — we have awarded more than $20,000 since 2014.  Monthly membership meetings feature experts on topics ranging from our coastal ecosystem to the history of skateboarding.  Our Crafts Groups sponsors an annual Holiday Boutique featuring handmade treasures for unique holiday gifts. Our SeaWeeders Garden Club maintains the sculpture garden at the Solana Beach Post Office and assists with landscaping at several public pollinator gardens throughout the City.  We welcome volunteers! Lend your talents to our organization, or join our social gatherings and meet your neighbors. Learn more at www.sb-chs.org.

Solana Beach Friends of the Library is a non-profit, tax exempt charitable 501(C) organization which exists to aid and support the Solana Beach branch of the San Diego County Library. Its goals are to focus public attention on library services, facilities and needs, while enhancing library resources by receiving contributions from members and selling used books in the Title Wave Book Store, housed within the library. Friends' contributions & book sales donations to the library encourage literacy, the love of reading, and lifelong learning.

It also supports the library by paying for programs, supplies and equipment that are not easily supported by the County. Examples are Chair Yoga, Story Time and various other regular programs and activities.

Each day Friends are making a difference for the libraries they serve. They are advocates for the library by giving their time, energy and donations to the entities they serve.

Friends works out of the Solana Beach Library, 157 Stevens Avenue in Solana Beach, CA 92075.
