Legal, Tax & Financial Assistance
The Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc. (LASSD) is a nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services to lower income San Diego residents. The firm is funded by the government (City, County, State and Federal), as well as endowments and charities. The services we provide are determined by our Board of Directors, which is made up of local client eligible persons and a larger number of local attorneys. Also, a part of LASSD is the Consumer Center for Health Education and Advocacy. It is a stand-alone project of LASSD (our largest department) that specializes in health law, health care access and education.
We are committed to improving the lives of our clients. Our lawyers maintain expertise by specializing in only one area of practice. They are committed to staying up to date on all of the latest laws and approaches to our clients' problems. Clients do not have to travel to the office where the attorney or advocate works, but may use any of our three office locations to speak with their lawyer. Video conferencing can be used for an attorney client discussion when needed.
San Diego County's Aging and Independence Services agency offers assistance, information, and referrals to older adults, those with disabilities, and their family members. Our services and programs help people stay safe, healthy, and as independent as possible.
