SeaWeeders Garden Club sponsors hands-on gardening projects throughout the city of Solana Beach and promotes sustainable beautification in public and private spaces. Membership is through the Solana Beach Civic & Historical Society and is open to residents of Solana Beach and neighboring communities. The club has several on-going projects which can be explored at seaweedersgardenclub.org.

The Solana Beach Civic & Historical Society, founded in 1953, contributes to the community through educational programs, city beautification projects, and a “living history” museum in La Colonia Park. The Society’s many ongoing initiatives include annual academic scholarships for college-bound Solana Beach students — we have awarded more than $20,000 since 2014.  Monthly membership meetings feature experts on topics ranging from our coastal ecosystem to the history of skateboarding.  Our Crafts Groups sponsors an annual Holiday Boutique featuring handmade treasures for unique holiday gifts. Our SeaWeeders Garden Club maintains the sculpture garden at the Solana Beach Post Office and assists with landscaping at several public pollinator gardens throughout the City.  We welcome volunteers! Lend your talents to our organization, or join our social gatherings and meet your neighbors. Learn more at www.sb-chs.org.

The Solana Beach Community Senior Center is an outreach of the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church and offers programs, discussion groups, games, trips and social opportunities, exercise classes, entertainment and a fabulous lunch to seniors regardless of age, race, sex, city of residence or religious affiliation. Through SBPC's Mature Adult and Care Ministries, resources such as senior legal services, health insurance counseling, AARP Tax Aide and a "care closet" which loans at-home medical equipment are available. The bi-monthly Newsletter, called Encore, which lists current events and activities is available on line and in print format.

The Solana Beach Senior Center is located at the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church, 120 Stevens Avenue, Solana Beach, CA 92075. For an update on upcoming programs, please call 858-509-2587 or see the current Encore Newsletter.
